Terms of Use

Usage of any of our intellectual property constitutes continuous acceptance of our terms of use. This agreement is subject to change with or without notification to the user. However, reference to this agreement will always be made available via our mobile app.

Except for user data, mariner cv's mobile application, websites, logo, functionality, source code, etc are and will remain the property of the developer of mariner cv. You (as a user) are however granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable licence to access and use the application solely for your personal, non-commercial use in creating resumes.

We do not claim ownership of your personal information, employment history, profile pictures, or educational backgrounds that you submit, upload, or input. These are called "User Content".

By inputting User Content, you represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary legal rights to use that information. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, reproduce, and format your User Content strictly as necessary to provide you with productive functionalities.

This license terminates automatically when you delete your account or remove your data from our servers.

You expressly agree that you will not, under any circumstances, engage in the following prohibited behaviors:

1. Copying, reverse-engineering, decompiling, or attempting to extract the source code of the application or its underlying layout styling logic.
2. Modifying, selling, renting, or sublicensing our proprietary CV design templates or layouts for your own commercial gain.
3. Scraping data, templates, or system features using automated tools, bots, or spiders.
4. Using our trademarks, branding, or app imagery in a way that suggests an unauthorized endorsement, partnership, or affiliation with the Company.

Any unauthorized use of the Company's Intellectual Property constitutes a material breach of these Terms and Conditions and will result in the immediate termination of your account, alongside potential legal action under applicable law.

Mariner CV is an automated productivity tool for seafarers and does not function as an employment agency, recruiter or career counsellor. We do not guarantee, represent, or warrant that utilizing our application, templates, or optimization advice will result in:

1. Job interviews, employment offers, or career advancement.
2. Successful passage through an employer's Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
3. The accuracy or suitability of your CV for any specific job market or industry.

The ultimate responsibility for the quality, accuracy, truthfulness, and success of the resume lies solely with you, the user.

The application and all generated documents are provided to you on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Company disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the application will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of software bugs, errors, or data loss.

To the maximum extent permitted under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and other applicable international jurisdictions, the Company, its directors, employees, partners, or contractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Loss of profits, income, or revenue resulting from missed job opportunities.
• Loss of data or personal information due to server interruptions or technical issues.
• Reputational damage caused by typographical errors, formatting glitches, or inaccuracies within a generated CV.
• Any unauthorized access, alteration, or use of your account or User Content.

In no event shall the total aggregate liability of the Company for all claims, damages, losses, and causes of action arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the application exceed the 20 Nigerian naira or its equivalent in any currency.

While our application is designed to automatically parse, format, and organize information into structured templates, we do not review, edit, or verify the content you input.

• User Responsibility: You are solely responsible for proofreading, verifying, and ensuring the absolute accuracy of all text, dates, contact details, and qualifications on your final generated CV before downloading or submitting it to employers.
• No Formatting Warranties: Due to variations in device screens, operating systems, and PDF readers, the final visual rendering or alignment of a downloaded CV may vary slightly. The Company is not liable for typographical errors, truncated text, formatting overlaps, or omissions caused by automated text conversion or system processing.

We strive to keep the application operational 24/7; however, the service is provided on an "as available" basis.

• Permitted Disruptions: The Company shall not be held liable for any temporary unavailability, downtime, server crashes, or disruption of service caused by routine system maintenance, server updates, hardware upgrades, internet service provider (ISP) failures within Nigeria or internationally, or events beyond our reasonable control (Force Majeure).
• Data Backup: we do not provide any data backup at the moment. Your data are kept with you in your device.

The Company operates in a dynamic digital ecosystem and continuously evolves its software to improve user experience.

• Right to Modify: We reserve the unilateral right to add, modify, update, suspend, or permanently discontinue any specific feature, tool, layout template, or part of the application at any time without prior notice to you.
• Deprecation of Assets: This includes the right to retire or replace older CV templates or layout styles. The Company is not liable to you or any third party for any modification, price change, or suspension of a specific feature that alters how your previously saved CV looks or functions.
